A Powerful Collaboration for Change: Art, Fashion & Social Impact

Female artists breathe new life into donated fashion pieces

What an incredible day at Shelter Boutique Hampstead! On February 19th, six talented female artists came together to breathe new life into donated fashion pieces, transforming them into striking works of art. Art Vox was on hand in support to capture the creative process, conducting interviews with the participating artists and documenting this unique fusion of art and sustainability. See the video below.

About Shelter:
Shelter is a vital UK housing and homelessness charity that has been fighting for everyone’s right to a safe, secure, and affordable home since 1966.

A Meaningful Partnership:
This unique collaboration beautifully aligns the missions of both organisations.

Shelter’s commitment to sustainable fashion and social change meets Women in Art’s dedication to empowering female artists. Together, they demonstrate how creative expression can drive both social impact and environmental consciousness, while raising awareness for two vital causes: housing justice and women’s representation in the arts.

The event was organised in partnership with Women in Art CIC, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering women in the visual arts through exhibitions, programs, and educational initiatives. Their mission is to strengthen women’s presence and recognition in the art world.

Women in Art Prize runs the only not-for-profit annual art awards of its kind
